On the occasion of the Centennial of World War I Armistice Day and Serbian-American Alliance the exhibit “Album of Remembrance of our Ancestors from the World War I” will be open at the Consulate General on November 10, 2018 at 5pm (201 E Ohio St. Suite 200 Chicago). The invitation can be found here.

The organizers of the exhibit are Serbian Association of Descendants of the Warriors 1912-1920 and the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia in Chicago.

The exhibit of photographs of the project "Album of Remembrance of Our Ancestors from the World War I" presents photographs, war diaries, military letters, correspondence cards, memorials and other historical material of the participants of the World War I. These are unique testimonies of the war adventures and sufferings of the Serbian soldiers in the war years which were suppressed from the pages of world history. The exhibit "Album of Remembrance of Our Ancestors from the World War I" is a result of the desire, a hundred years later, to pay due honor to this little man from the Great War for Civilization and to save from the oblivion his great sacrifice for justice, truth, freedom and humanity, and turn it into a cultural heritage.

The program is implemented with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia - the Directorate for Cooperation with Diaspora and Serbs in the Region and the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Serbia.
