On Peace Day, which was established in 1978, for the forty time a message of peace was sent from Daley Plaza Square in Chicago. The event was attended by representatives of the city, the state of Illinois, the consular corps, representatives of ethnic communities, cultural and educational institutions, and others.

During the World Peace Flag ceremony, the flags of all the world countries,  members of the United Nations, are being carried. A prayer for peace is sent to every single country. The flag of the Republic of Serbia was carried by Nataša Pupovac, an eighth grade student of the Serbian Orthodox School "St. Sava" in Milwaukee.

Acting Consul General Dejan Radulovic participated in the manifestation on behalf of the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia.
