On Peace Day, which was established in 1978, for the thirty-ninth time a message of peace was sent from Daley Plaza Square in Chicago. A message of peace was sent from Daley Plaza Square. The event was attended by representatives of the city, the state of Illinois, the consular corps, representatives of ethnic communities, cultural and educational institutions, and others.

During the World Peace Flag ceremony, the flags of all the world countries,  members of the United Nations, are being carried. A prayer for peace is sent to every single country. The flag of the Republic of Serbia was carried by Zora Goljić, an eighth grade student of the "St. Sava" Academy in Chicago.

Acting Consul General Dejan Radulovic participated in the manifestation on behalf of the Consulate General of the Republic of Serbia.
