The event was attended by Crown Prince Alexander and Princess Katherine. Mrs. Kathy Fanslow, President of Lifeline-Chicago, welcomed the guests and thanked everyone who responded to the call for action and collecting donations for the Children's Hospital in Belgrade. In an emotional speech Princess Katherine introduced those present with the previous actions, primarily addressed to orphanages and hospitals in Serbia, as well as with the needs for humanitarian assistance. Acting Consul General Dejan Radulovic spoke on behalf of the Consulate General, and thanked Lifeline-Chicago for their humanitarian work.

A few days prior to the fundraising event, Lifeline-Chicago has shipped a container with Christmas gifts intended for the children in Serbia.
