An exhibition tennis match was held in Chicago on December 14th, 2014 between Serbian tennis player Jelena Jankovic and an American tennis player Taylor Townsend. This was Jelena Jankovic’s first visit to Chicago, as well as the first such visit to Chicago by the top Serbian tennis player, which was met with an good reception by the Serbian Diaspora here.  Taylor Townsend is from Chicago and represents one of the more prospective American female tennis players.  Match organizer was Chicago company Sports Management & Promotions.

On the occasion of the tennis match Consulate General of Serbia in Chicago held a reception attended by both tennis players and their trainers.  That was a unique chance for the players to meet fans of tennis in Chicago, especially among the Serbian members of the community.  Press conference was held at the same time where both Jelena Jankovic and Taylor Townsend responded to questions of the media representatives.
